Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from Building 21 and the School District of Philadelphia, students must meet three sets of requirements:
- Complete Portfolio: Students must meet all of the evidence requirements for their portfolio for each grade level. Students must also achieve a minimum performance level on each of the required competencies.
- Earn Required Credits: Students must earn 23.5 credits which include:
- 4 credits in English
- 3 credits in Mathematics
- 3 credits in Science
- 3 credits in Social Studies
- 1 credit in African American History
- 2 credits in World Language
- 2 credits in Arts and Humanities classes
- 1 credit in Physical Education
- 0.5 credit in Health
- 4 credits in electives
- 1 elective must be one of the following: Mathematics, Science, International Baccalaureate, or Advanced Placement courses.
- Completed a Multidisciplinary Project or a Service Learning Project successfully.
- Meet Act 158 Requirements: In 2018, Act 158 was signed into law outlining state graduation requirements and the ways in which Keystone In order to graduate from high school, students must meet all local graduation requirements related to credits and coursework along with the state requirements outlined in Act 158. Act 158 outlines five different Pathways to Graduation.
